Lash Trends 2025: Clean Girl Aesthetic to Anime Lashes

Lash Trends Through the Years: From Drama to the Clean Girl Aesthetic

Just like fashion, beauty, and even brows — lash styles move in cycles. What’s in one year might feel overdone the next. As someone who’s been in the lash game for over 16 years, I’ve had a front-row seat to the changing tides of lash trends — and trust me, lashes are just as trend-sensitive as anything on the runway.

Right now, we’re seeing a huge shift toward natural beauty. Think soft glam, minimal makeup, and skin that looks like skin. And in the lash world, that’s translated to a noticeable spike in lash lifts. Yep — lash lifts are having a moment.

Why? Because they align beautifully with what social media calls the “clean girl aesthetic” — fresh-faced, effortless, and put together without looking like you’ve tried too hard.

But this isn’t the first time lash preferences have changed — and it definitely won’t be the last.

A Look Back: Lash Trends We’ve Loved (and Learned From)

Let’s rewind the lash clock:

  • Dramatic Full Volume Sets
In the early 2010s, it was all about the more is more approach. Clients wanted dense, dark, ultra-full Russian Volume sets. Mega volume was queen, and no lash line was left untouched.

  • Spikey Texture and Anime Lashes
Texture is now trending in a big way again, but with a modern twist. Think Anime Lashes — intentionally spikey, bold, and almost doll-like. This trend channels playful creativity and brings a fun edge to your lash look.

  • Coloured Lashes
Every few years, coloured lashes have their moment. Whether it’s soft pastel hues peeking through a black base or full rainbow sets, they’re like the neon eyeliner of the lash world — a bold statement for those who want to stand out.

  • Adhesive Innovation: Enter LED Lashes
One of the biggest advancements we’ve seen recently is LED lash extensions. With better retention, oil resistance, and reduced fumes, they’re a game changer. These aren’t just a trend — they’re a technological upgrade. But just like anything new, not everyone is ready to ditch their classic adhesive (and that’s totally okay — we stock both!).

So… What Do These Trends Tell Us?

They tell us that lashes evolve with lifestyle. When bold glam ruled, we matched it with full, dramatic lashes. Now that minimalism and low-maintenance beauty are trending, lash lifts and subtle extensions have taken the lead.

And because I’ve been handcrafting lashes since before most people knew what a "lash map" was, I can say this with confidence: lash trends will always come and go — but great technique, lash health, and client education never go out of style.
